Making the Most of Small Places
How to make the most of small spaces was the name of the game for this two story addition that had restrictive zoning, making further expansions impossible. Nevertheless, some creative thought in tying an open concept kitchen, laundry and mudroom area to the rear yard allowed us to get it done and meet the client’s needs. The second story space made for a beautiful sun-filled master bedroom and although we only roughed in the ensuite, the approach allowed this home-handy client to get more functional space out of the budget, leaving him to handle flooring, paint and trims - something he was very capable of enjoying in what we refer to as “sweat equity.”
